National Center for Child Health and Development
The ‘National Center for Child Health and Development’ is a national research and development corporation under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan. They are a hospital providing outstanding services in areas like obstetrics and pediatrics. We were entrusted with the task of designing a site to introduce their ‘AI Hospital Project’. We aimed to create a platform that clearly depicts how AI is being utilized in the hospital setting. The final outcome was well-received by our client and effectively conveyed what they wanted.
Client’s Issue
This public hospital is known for its important and advanced medical facilities, providing superior medical care to children, teenagers, and pregnant women, with a strong focus on obstetrics and pediatrics. We at NERD had the opportunity to create a promotional site to introduce their ‘AI Hospital Project’. One of the main challenges in designing the site was to effectively convey what the use of AI in a hospital setting entails.
What We Did
At NERD, our first step was to organize the information around the question, “What does AI in a hospital setting mean?” while also accommodating the client’s budget for design adjustments and development. One of the unique features we implemented was the incorporation of video content. Our client expressed a desire to use video on their site, but we wanted to ensure this did not slow down the site’s load times or stress users by abruptly starting the video. Instead of making the video the main visual element, we created a video band at the bottom of the site. When clicked, this band directs users to a YouTube display, creating a smoother, more user-friendly experience.
Results
We were successfully able to launch the site and are incredibly grateful for the positive feedback we received. As a site for a hospital where high standards are demanded, being able to meet and exceed these standards is something we at NERD are deeply grateful for.
